Swiss startup Planted raises $7M for imitation meat innovation
Zurich-based food startup Planted raised 7 million Swiss francs (approximately $7 million) in seed round, with investment from Blue Horizon Corporation, Hiltl, Good Seed Ventures, Mica Ventures, Joyance Partners, the ETH Zurich Foundation and some private investors.
Planted uses the protein and fibers of yellow split peas to create faux meat. Then company has some established partnerships with casual and fine dining restaurants. Planted plans to use the capital to scale production and R&D, as well as expand beyond Swiss markets.
