Ripple creates plant-based ice cream line from peas

California-based vegan brand Ripple Foods has released its first ice cream line at Sprouts Farmers Market grocery chain, with an expansion planned to additional stores later this year. 

The new line will be made with the brand’s proprietary Ripptein protein, a pea protein-derivative that serves as an alternative to allergens such as cashews and almonds used as a base by some plant-based dairy products.
