The Shared-X team began with 1,000 farmers in Peru and aim to expand their reach to help 12,000 individuals in the next five years. Applying their knowledge from more than two decades of marketing experience, they give farmers the opportunity to earn seven times as much by selling crops as specialty food items at premium prices. They successfully use fair trade practices to transform poverty into hope.
- Providing a broad range of support to farmers, including a provision of precision nutrients, extension services, and access to markets
- Working with over 1,000 smallholder farmers, with planned support for 12,000 smallholder farmers within a five-year period to create a two- to sevenfold increase in farm income dependent upon the crop and location, as well as a 400% increase in income in a three-year development period prior to inception
- Expanding our impact model to other Latin American countries and to additional regions worldwide
- Employing 317 field workers within the company in formal employment earning 50% above standard minimum wage
